“Death of a Union Member” Cargo Solidarity Union Begins Negotiations with BGF Logistics

The Cargo Truckers’ Solidarity Division of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU), which is protesting the death of a member in an accident in Jinju, Gyeongnam Province, began negotiations with BGF Logis yesterday (22nd).

The Cargo Truckers’ Solidarity held an introductory negotiation meeting with the representative of BGF Logis at the Jinju Labor Branch around 10 a.m. yesterday (22nd). Following that, they conducted another introductory working-level negotiation near Daejeon Station around 5 p.m.

BGF Logis is the logistics subsidiary of BGF Retail, which operates the convenience store chain CU.

On the 20th, during a rally in front of the CU logistics center in Jinju, a cargo truck driven by a non-union member ran over a member of the Cargo Truckers’ Solidarity, resulting in one death and two serious injuries.
