KAIST announced on the 15th that it will participate in the ‘2025 Korea Science and Technology Festival,’ the largest science festival in the country, showcasing cutting-edge research achievements and innovative technologies.

KAIST will participate in the ‘Curiosity Lab,’ a research performance exhibition at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC), and ‘Curiosity Power Plant,’ which presents experiential content at the Expo Science Park’s outdoor exhibition center.

At the Curiosity Lab in DCC, Professor Hwangbo Jaemin’s team from the Department of Mechanical Engineering will showcase Raibo, a quadruped robot that is the first in the world to complete a marathon on a single battery charge. Attendees can watch it navigate ramps, stairs, and icy roads.

Professor Lee Haeshin’s startup Polyphenol Factory from the Department of Chemistry will introduce upgraded ‘Gravity’ ingredients with hair loss prevention and volume care functions. Professor Sung Jihyun’s team from the Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering will exhibit a model illustrating the structural differences between large nuclear power plants and small modular reactors (SMRs), provide a simulator experience where the public can manipulate a reactor, and demonstrate a cloud chamber that visualizes radiation.

Professor Kong Kyungcheol’s KAIST Exo Lab and Angel Robotics from the Department of Mechanical Engineering will exhibit ‘WalkON Suit F1,’ a wearable walking assistant device, and ‘Angel Suit H10’ for enhancing strength in the elderly or general public.

At the Curiosity Power Plant KAIST hall in Expo Science Park, Professor Choi Min-hee’s team from the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences allows participants to experience the process of creating an artificial brain from skin-derived stem cells through a game.

Additionally, Professor Changhee Lee’s team from the Department of Industrial Design will display ‘Haho Pond,’ utilizing the temperature difference in breaths (‘ha’ and ‘ho’). Professor Lee Sungjoo’s team from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering will present ‘Food Sensor,’ which blocks unpleasant food content on YouTube based on users’ content preferences. The KAIST student robotics club, Mr., will showcase an arm robot that quickly learns and mimics human movements.

The 2025 Korea Science and Technology Festival will be held under the slogan “The Engine of Science and Technology, Awaken Your Inner Curiosity” from April 16 to 20.
