“Coming Out” wassup’s Ji-ae shares a kiss with her same-sex partner in Bali… Wedding photo shoot mood “Let’s love”

[OSEN=Choi Lee-jung] Ji-ae, a former member of the group Wassup, who came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, shared a passionate kiss with her same-sex partner.

On the 5th, Ji-ae posted a photo on her social media account with the caption “My sweet girlfriend.” The photo shows Ji-ae sharing a sweet kiss with her same-sex partner in Bali. Dressed in black couple outfits and holding a bouquet, Ji-ae’s appearance evokes the mood of a wedding photo shoot.

Ji-ae previously came out as LGBTQ+ in July 2021, saying, “Let’s not hide our emotions. Let’s love. If you have to go to hell, I’ll go (to hell).” She also shared a photo of a rainbow, confessing her feelings, and stated, “I’m LGBTQ+,” referring to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people, which denotes sexual minorities.

In February, Ji-ae appeared on Channel S’s ‘Sister’s Slam Dunk’, drawing attention. She commented, “While I was active in a twerking group, I came out through social media. Because of that, numerous articles were published.”

Ji-ae also shared her reasons for coming out as bisexual, saying, “When I was 25, I dated several men, but the relationships didn’t last more than three months and left me feeling unfulfilled, questioning if it was love. I thought, ‘Do I have to date men? Why not try dating a woman?’ and so I did.”

She went on to explain, “Soon after meeting my first girlfriend, I wanted to watch a queer film. Upon searching, I was shocked by the negative comments and thought, ‘Why should women only like men, and men only like women?’ This frustrated me, and I posted something in a fit of anger. I wasn’t drunk. It just suddenly came across my mind, ‘Can’t a woman date a woman?’ I’m not sure what drove me, but I posted it impulsively, and it became news.”

After her coming out, Ji-ae received 3,000 DMs in a single day, with many criticizing or using sexual language. However, she gained acceptance from her family, which caught attention.

Ji-ae expressed her disappointment over the negative perception towards sexual minorities.
