Choo Kyung-ho tests positive for COVID-19… Will not attend high-level party meetings over the weekend

[서울=뉴시스] 권창회 기자 = Choo Kyung-ho, the floor leader of the People Power Party, is seen engaging in a conversation with Jang Dong-hyuk, a senior member, at a legislative debate on amending Article 98 of the Criminal Code held at the National Assembly Members’ Office in Yeouido, Seoul on the afternoon of August 21.
Choo, the floor leader, was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 23rd and has entered self-isolation. Due to the positive COVID-19 test result, Choo was unable to attend meetings scheduled for the day, including a parliamentary support meeting for the early establishment of the Lee Seung-man Presidential Memorial Hall and the party’s strategy meeting.
Choo will also not attend the high-level ruling party consultation meeting scheduled for the 25th. The meeting is expected to address issues such as the cost of Chuseok meals, beef and rice supply, and measures to boost consumption ahead of the upcoming holiday.
In addition to Choo, Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, also tested positive for COVID-19 the previous day, resulting in the postponement of the first bilateral meeting with Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the People Power Party, which was scheduled for the 25th.
