‘Leader Jo Kook of the Jo Kookhyuksin Party stated on the 2nd regarding the divorce lawsuit between Chairman Choi Tae-won of SK Group and Noh So-young, the curator of the Nabi Art Center, which is gaining attention as the “judgment of the century,” “What we should pay more attention to is not Chairman Choi’s infidelity or the amount of property division between the two, but the starting point of the tremendous wealth of this couple.”
Leader Jo stated on Facebook, “I am not interested in the issue of the break-up of their affection. The majority of the media are not emphasizing the fact that the court ruled that the wealth accumulated by the couple was profits from illegal funds and influence-peddling crimes.”
He added, “Without the help of the then-father-in-law Noh Tae-woo, SK would not have become the telecommunications chaebol it is today. And at that time, rumors of illegal funds were circulating, but the prosecution did not investigate at all.”

He further questioned, “The ‘Illegal Profit Concealment Regulation Act’ was enacted in 2001, so it does not apply to illegal acts before that. So did the Choi-Noh couple rightfully inherit this profit in its entirety?.”
Leader Jo said, “We should also pay attention to whether there are companies benefiting from influence-peddling under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, and whether the prosecution is investigating this (as it is a direct target of prosecution investigation).”
Earlier, the Seoul High Court’s Family 2nd Division (Presiding Judge Kim Si-chul) ruled on the 30th that Chairman Choi should divide his wealth of 1,380.8 billion won with Noh and pay alimony of 20 billion won. The appellate court revealed the fact of a large amount of money exchanged between Noh’s late father, former President Noh, and Choi’s late father, former SK Group Chairman Choi Jong-hyun, and determined that they contributed to the formation of the ‘joint property’ of Choi Tae-young and Noh So-young.
