China’s Shenzhou manned spacecraft launch

China has conducted the Shenzhou 20 project, sending three astronauts to its manned space station. The goal is to send the manned spacecraft “Shenzhou 20” to the independently constructed space station “Tiangong” to carry out scientific research and other activities.

According to Reuters on the 24th (local time), China launched Shenzhou 20 at 5:17 PM from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu Province, using the Long March-2F rocket. This launch marks the 20th mission of China’s manned space flight program, which began over 30 years ago, and the 15th manned spaceflight.

Shenzhou 20 is headed to space carrying zebrafish for life sciences experiments, planaria known for their regenerative abilities, and Streptomycetes, bacteria that produce antibiotics.
