Chairman of ‘Kim Ga Nae’ Booked on Charges of ‘Quasi-Rape’ of Female Employee Who Was Drunk.

Chairman Kim Yong-man of the popular snack franchise “Kim Ga Nae” has been booked by the police on charges of attempted rape of a female employee who was intoxicated at a company gathering. According to the police on the 14th, the Seoul Seongbuk Police Station received a report last July accusing Chairman Kim of quasi-rape resulting in injury and indecent assault using business authority, under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.

The complaint submitted to the police alleges that during a company dinner held in two rounds last September, Chairman Kim pressured employees to drink alcohol. He is accused of attempting to sexually assault a female employee who lost consciousness from drinking by moving her to a nearby motel. Investigations revealed that Chairman Kim attempted sexual assault and committed quasi-rape and harassment on an employee who could not resist.

It is reported that even after the incident, Chairman Kim repeatedly requested meetings with the employee. When the employee refused, he offered a settlement on the condition that neither party disclose the incident externally. It is known that the employee agreed to the settlement out of fear of losing her job. However, as the incident became known within the company, the employee underwent psychiatric treatment for over a year.

The police plan to conclude the investigation soon and refer Chairman Kim to the prosecution.
