BTS’s Jimin Nominated for Favorite K-Pop Artist at the American Music Awards

BTS’s Jimin, even while serving in the military, has once again demonstrated his global influence as a solo artist. On the 23rd (local time), the American Music Awards (AMA) announced that Jimin has been nominated in the “Favorite K-Pop Artist” category.

Previously, in March, Jimin won the “K-POP SONG OF THE YEAR” category at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards with the title track “Who” from his second solo album, MUSE. His AMA nomination further confirms his popularity and impact in the U.S.

Additionally, Jimin’s “Who,” released last July, has been on the U.S. Billboard’s main song chart “Hot 100” for 33 weeks, surpassing BTS’s “Dynamite” (32 weeks), setting the longest charting record for a K-pop solo artist. He also topped the Billboard Artist Chart as the first K-pop solo artist, becoming the only K-pop artist to achieve the top spot both as part of a group and as a solo artist. He successfully charted for a total of 40 weeks, a first and only for a K-pop solo artist, cementing his status as a global pop star.

Even while serving in the military, Jimin continues to elevate his global reputation. The outcome of his nomination will be revealed when the American Music Awards are held in Los Angeles on May 26 at 5 PM.
