According to a report by Portuguese broadcaster SIC on the 3rd (local time), one of the people injured in the funicular derailment accident is a Korean woman who is currently hospitalized at São Francisco Xavier Hospital.
Local media RTP Notícias also reported that three injured individuals were transported to São Francisco Xavier Hospital, and one of them is said to be of Korean nationality.
According to local rescue authorities, the tram accident occurred around 6 p.m. and so far has resulted in 15 fatalities and 23 injuries.
Of the injured, five are in critical condition, and some are reported to be foreign nationals.
The funicular, a cable train that travels up and down hills, is a popular attraction among foreign tourists visiting Lisbon.
