In response to the attacks by the Ukrainian military on the southwestern border region, the region of Belgorod Oblast in Russia has declared a state of emergency at the provincial level.
Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of Belgorod Oblast stated on the 14th local time that the region is in a very difficult and tense situation due to the shelling by the Ukrainian military. He also mentioned that a request will be made to the federal government to declare a national state of emergency.
Earlier, on the 6th, the Ukrainian military launched a surprise attack on Russian territory across the border, and the evacuation of residents in Belgorod Oblast began on the 12th.
