On his first day of work, Commissioner Baek Hae-ryong, dispatched to the joint investigation team for the ‘Customs Drug Investigation Pressure Allegations,’ criticized the prosecution team as an ‘illegal organization,’ stating that his convictions as a public servant are shaken.
Commissioner Baek said this to reporters on his way to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office today (16th), stating that “the prosecution is the subject of investigation and its leadership is related to the suspicions.”
He also mentioned that he does not communicate with Lim Eun-jung, the chief prosecutor leading the joint investigation team at the Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office.
Previously, Commissioner Baek had been dispatched to the investigation team by the direction of President Lee Jae-myung, but he is opposing, claiming that it is difficult to conduct a proper investigation with a separate team of five investigators.
