According to Reuters, citing American polling agency Edison Research, this result emerged with half of the estimated votes tallied. Georgia, which holds 16 electoral votes, is a key state in this election battle.
President Joe Biden won against Trump in Georgia during the 2020 Presidential Election by a margin of fewer than 12,000 votes, marking the first Democratic victory in a southern state in nearly 30 years.
Earlier, NBC had described the race in Georgia as extremely close according to exit polls. The exit polls revealed that 54% of independents voted for former President Trump, while 43% voted for Vice President Harris.
