According to an NBS survey, 57% of the public believes “Yoon should be removed from office,” while 44% say they “cannot accept a result that differs from their own opinion.”

According to a survey, 44% of people said they would not accept the Constitutional Court’s decision on the impeachment trial of President Yoon Suk-yeol if it differs from their own opinion. Only 50% said they would accept the decision even if it does not align with their views.

On the 3rd, Yonhap News reported that this result came from a National Barometer Survey (NBS) conducted by Embraine Public, KSTAT Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research. The survey was carried out on 1,001 men and women aged 18 and over from March 31 to April 2.

Regarding opinions on the outcome of the impeachment trial, 57% believed that the impeachment should be upheld and President Yoon should be removed from office, while 35% thought the impeachment should be dismissed and he should return to duty.

In terms of the outlook for the impeachment trial, 55% anticipated the impeachment would be upheld and lead to removal from office, whereas 34% expected it would be dismissed allowing a return to duty.

As for the trust in the Constitutional Court’s impeachment trial process, opinions were evenly split with 46% expressing trust and another 46% expressing mistrust.

The NBS was conducted via telephone interviews using a 100% mobile random number sampling. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The response rate was 22.4%, with 1,001 out of 4,476 people contacted providing responses.
