(Seoul=News1) Reporter Kim Hak-jin – Actress Choi Yeojin once again clarified the rumors of infidelity and various other rumors surrounding her marriage to her husband.
In the episode aired on the 16th of tvN STORY’s entertainment program ‘What’s Left to Do’, Choi Yeojin appeared as a close friend of actor Lee Kyu-han, and shared a conversation with MCs Lee Young-ja and Park Se-ri.
During the show, Lee Young-ja addressed Choi Yeojin, saying, “Many people were curious about your marriage. While you received blessings, there were some ups and downs and upsetting issues, weren’t there?” mentioning the controversy of ‘living under one roof with the ex-wife’ and the infidelity rumors.
Choi Yeojin candidly expressed her feelings, saying that the situation back then became a handicap for her. She had been embroiled in infidelity rumors after appearing on a reality show where scenes were broadcast showing her living in a house with her husband and his ex-wife.
She explained, “The biggest issue was the misunderstanding where people thought, ‘How could you take your acquaintance’s husband when you were eating and living in the same house?’ The house had 13 rooms, and I only used one of them. Just because we lived in the same apartment doesn’t mean we were living together.”
Regarding the infidelity rumors, she stressed, “I met my husband 2 to 3 years after his divorce. It was definitely not an affair.”
When Lee Young-ja mentioned her husband’s ex-wife, Choi Yeojin said, “She has a cool personality. She supports and cares for me. She’s also a fan of mine. She jokingly says, ‘Try living with him too,'” she added.
Choi Yeojin also addressed another rumor, saying, “Apart from these misunderstandings, there was an unexpected rumor of me being a cult leader. It started because a crown given to me by a friend for my birthday resembled the mark of some religious group.”
She further added, “The legal team of that religious group contacted me, asking me to clarify that it was not true.”
Her husband, who appeared briefly during the shoot, commented on their current married life, “It’s so good and happy. Two are better than one.” Choi Yeojin showed tears, saying, “I feel like my husband is experiencing hardships he wouldn’t have needed to because I’m a celebrity. I’m sorry for causing him difficulties because he’s now more recognized.”
Meanwhile, Choi Yeojin married a businessman seven years her senior in June last year. At the time of their marriage, they were embroiled in infidelity rumors, but Choi Yeojin clarified that they were untrue on YouTube channels and the MBC entertainment program ‘Radio Star.’
