A man in his 70s arrested for wielding a weapon during an argument at a pub, causing the death of an acquaintance.

A man in his 70s was arrested by the police after fatally stabbing a female acquaintance during an argument while drinking at a bar.

On the 9th, the Gyeonggi Ilsan Western Police Station announced that they have detained the man, identified as Mr. A, on charges of murder.

Mr. A is accused of wielding a weapon and killing a woman in her 50s, known as Ms. B, at a bar in Ilsan-dong, Ilsanseo-gu, around 9 p.m. on the 8th.

Mr. A and Ms. B, who were acquaintances, reportedly ran into each other by chance at the bar and got into an argument while drinking. It is during this altercation that Mr. A is alleged to have fatally stabbed Ms. B.

After committing the crime, Mr. A fled the scene, but was apprehended by the police who were dispatched following a report from a bar customer stating that “someone stabbed a person and ran away after drinking at the front table.” The police searched the vicinity and found Mr. A hiding in some bushes.

At the time of arrest, Mr. A was found to be in an unstable breathing condition and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital. The police are considering whether to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A and are conducting further investigations into the details and motive of the incident.
