At the time of the assassination attempt, a bullet fired left a scar of about 2 cm on the ear of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to reports from AP News and other local media on the 20th (local time), Rep. Ronnie Jackson, who served as the White House physician during Trump’s presidency and is a Republican congressman from Texas, shared this information on social media.
Rep. Jackson stated that although former President Trump narrowly avoided the bullet with a difference of about 1/4 inch (approximately 0.63 cm), the scar created by the trajectory of the bullet measures 2 cm in width and extends to the surface of the ear cartilage.
He explained that at the time of being shot, there was a lot of bleeding and the upper part of the ear swelled up, but currently, the swelling has subsided. He added that a scab has started to form on the wound, and it is in the process of healing properly.
However, he also mentioned that intermittent bleeding requires bandaging the wound, as bleeding occurs due to the characteristics of the ear where blood vessels are concentrated.
Rep. Jackson said, “Trump will need additional examinations in the future,” and emphasized the need for a comprehensive hearing test.
Rep. Jackson, who became a politician after serving as the White House physician, has reportedly been examining Trump daily since the shooting incident. It is said that the detailed disclosure of the former President Trump’s condition by medical experts after the shooting incident on the 13th is the first time this has happened.
