Upon rummaging through a bag, bundles of bills fill it up. Other bags also reveal bundles of 50,000 won bills one after another. Some of the 6.8 billion won that vanished from a leased warehouse in Jamsil, Seoul last month was found in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Police arrested a man in his 40s, Mr. A, who was the manager of the warehouse, on the 6th day after the theft report was made, on the 2nd of last month in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. It was confirmed that A had entered the warehouse on the evening of the 12th last month using a master key, then spent five hours transferring the money into a carrier he had prepared in advance.

– “A transferred the cash being kept to another thousand-won bag, loading the cash bag onto a cart and then onto his car parked in this parking lot, setting off for home.”

During police interrogation, A confessed that he accidentally saw the money when the zipper of the carrier was opened while he was inspecting the warehouse for work, leading to greed and the subsequent crime.

Of the 6.8 billion won in damages, the police have seized 4.01 billion won and are currently tracing the remaining money. The police plan to hand A over to the prosecution and continue investigating other individuals suspected of being accomplices.
