“[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Choi Eun-soo = Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil the ‘Galaxy S25 Slim (tentative name)’ model, the thinnest in the Galaxy S series to date, this month, with benchmark (performance test) results having been leaked.”
On the 9th (local time), according to IT tipster Ukanlosreve, Geekbench benchmark test results for the Galaxy S25 Slim were leaked. Geekbench is a service that measures the performance of smartphones, tablets, PCs, etc.
The benchmark result for the presumed model Samsung SM-S937U, believed to be the Galaxy S25 Slim, showed a single-core score of 3005 and a multi-core score of 6945.
In particular, the multi-core score recorded below 7000, showing performance below expectations. This is significantly less than the previously leaked multi-core score of 9793 for the model presumed to be the Galaxy S25 Ultra, model Samsung SM-S9380.
Multi-core refers to a phone CPU (central processing unit) operating with two or more cores. Higher multi-core performance indicates superior capability in handling various tasks simultaneously.
However, U.S. IT media outlet PhoneArena suggested, “It is much more likely that this is an early prototype of the S25 Slim with unfinished software and experimental hardware,” adding, “We hope Samsung will take more time to improve the Galaxy S25 Slim, which may be launched in spring or summer.”
According to the benchmark results, the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest application processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The RAM capacity is projected to be 12GB, and it is expected to feature One UI 7.
The Galaxy S25 Slim model is anticipated to be the first of its kind in the Galaxy S series by Samsung Electronics. Samsung is expected to hold the ‘Samsung Galaxy Unpack 2025’ event in San Jose, USA, on the 22nd of this month (local time) and unveil four types of the Galaxy S25 series, including the Slim model.
Industry predictions expect the Galaxy S25 Slim to have a thickness of 6mm. Apple’s iPhone 17 Air, expected to be released in the second half of next year, is predicted to have a thickness of 6.25mm, indicating a thickness competition between the two companies.
