SKT partners with Schneider to enhance AI data center competitiveness.

“SK Telecom is strengthening its collaboration with leading global companies to secure core technologies and capabilities for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

On the 5th, SKT announced that it has formed a partnership with Schneider Electric in the MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems sector for AI data center cooperation at the ‘Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025’ held in Barcelona, Spain.

Schneider Electric is a global company in the energy management and automation sector with a 180-year history. As of last year, the company had a market capitalization of 211 trillion won and a revenue of 58 trillion won, with approximately 170,000 employees working in over 100 countries worldwide.

The AI data center MEP system plays an essential role in maintaining stability and efficiency from the design and construction stages of AI data centers through to their operation.

Through this partnership, the two companies plan to discuss collaboration on the construction and establishment of hyper-scale AI data centers at key domestic locations. They have agreed to cooperate across all areas of business, including components, product solutions, and consulting in the MEP sector.

In the future, SKT plans to expand its business into the global market by developing joint solutions related to AI data centers through a long-term partnership with Schneider Electric.

SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang stated, “We expect that our collaboration with Schneider Electric, a leading global AI data center solution provider, will significantly contribute not only to enhancing our company’s AI data center competitiveness but also to our expansion into the global market.”
