SKT Announces Super Large AIDC, Collaborating Across Cooling and Power Sectors [MWC 2025]

**SK Telecom’s Collaboration for AI Data Center Innovations**

**Forming MOUs with Data Center Leaders**
– Secured giga computing and liquid cooling technology
– Joint development with Schneider Electric in power and distribution systems
– CEO Yoo: “Building a 60,000-GPU AI Data Center”

**Partnerships at MWC 2025**
SK Telecom announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona that it has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with giga computing, a leader in liquid cooling technology, and energy management and automation company Schneider Electric for collaboration on AI data centers. This move follows SK Telecom’s recent announcement to construct the largest AI data center in Korea.

**Liquid Cooling Collaboration**
A tripartite MOU was signed with giga computing and SK Enmove. The aim is to enhance design and operation capabilities of next-generation liquid cooling technology, which is critical for GPU-based AI data centers due to their higher power consumption and heat generation compared to CPU-based centers. The method uses non-conductive cooling fluids to dissipate heat, outperforming traditional air-cooling systems. The companies plan extensive research and development (R&D) cooperation for technology validation and AI data center solutions.

**Schneider Electric Partnership**
SK Telecom also agreed to work with Schneider Electric on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems essential for AI data centers. This collaboration will focus on establishing AI data centers domestically and aims to expand their joint solutions globally.

**Statements and Future Plans**
Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, emphasized that partnerships with top AI data center solution providers will enhance their competitiveness and contribute significantly to global market expansion. This announcement follows Yoo’s previous declaration to build a large-scale AI data center in Korea in collaboration with global tech giants, featuring 60,000 GPUs.
