SK Telecom to offer conversational AI services such as ChatGPT and Clova for free

SK Telecom (SKT) announced on the 26th that it is conducting a large-scale service overhaul for its artificial intelligence (AI) service ‘AIdat.’ Through this update, users can experience various interactive AI models such as Purplecity, ChatGPT, Clode, and A.X on AIdat. Users can select engines based on their purposes to receive answers and easily compare answers from different models for the same question. AIdat will also provide convenient access to the latest LLM responses for comparison purposes, and the service will be free of charge for the time being.

In particular, the newly introduced Purplecity service through AIdat is being jointly developed for Korean-specific AI search between the two companies, aiming to provide an optimal AI search service combining the technological capabilities of both companies.

With this update, AIdat introduces a ‘Daily’ feature that allows users to integrate and manage their personal daily tasks, schedules, and records in one place, streamlining functions such as calendars, to-do lists, routines, and sleep that were previously scattered within AIdat.

Furthermore, AIdat enhances the AI assistant experience for users by allowing them to save and manage appointments, meetings, and tasks simply by speaking to the assistant, considering various factors such as weather, traffic, user preferences, and suggestions tailored to individual situations during scheduling and appointments.

Additionally, specialized agent services are provided in various fields such as music, media, securities, and T membership movie reservations to offer a richer and more comprehensive AI experience. Music and media agents engage in in-depth two-way conversations in their respective fields, providing information related to music and video content. The securities agent not only provides stock market information but also offers key information such as corporate performance, disclosure information, and stock subscription schedules more easily and quickly.

Especially in T membership movie reservations, users can easily make reservations through conversation similar to talking to cinema staff, receiving recommendations for movies and theaters based on their history and preferences, thereby shortening the reservation process. In addition, AIdat offers a complete AI assistant experience by reminding users of approaching movie reservation times.

Kim Yong-hoon, head of SK Telecom’s AI service business division, stated, “Through this AIdat overhaul, customers will be able to enjoy a more convenient and natural conversational experience as if they were communicating with a real personal assistant.” He also expressed the commitment to continue providing AI services that save customers time, enhance convenience, and promote innovations.
