“Now Climb Mountains Wearing a Robot… Exoskeleton Robot ‘Hypershell’ Officially Launched”

Wearable robots that can assist in daily life and exercise activities like hiking and running have been officially launched in the domestic market. On the 24th, VD Robotics held a press conference in Myeongdong, Seoul to announce the official launch of HyperShell in the domestic market.

HyperShell, which promotes itself as an outdoor performance wearable, is an AI-based exoskeleton device. By attaching it to the body like a belt and securing it around the legs with bands, the device either adds or controls the appropriate amount of force needed, depending on the user’s movements.

VD Robotics emphasized that unlike the existing domestic wearable robot market, which has been focused on medical and rehabilitation purposes, HyperShell will introduce a new category for outdoor activities and leisure. They target the demand of the outdoor population who invest time in activities such as running, trekking, and hiking.

The product is available in four variants—Ultra, Carbon, Pro, and Go—allowing users to choose according to their activity needs. The prices are set at 3,290,000 KRW, 2,890,000 KRW, 1,990,000 KRW, and 1,490,000 KRW, respectively.

The top model Ultra is capable of generating a maximum output of 1000W and can travel up to 30 km per battery charge. Weighing 1.8 kg, it provides assistance up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The company stated that it can reduce the user’s physical activity intensity by up to 39%.

VD Robotics presented a detailed roadmap aiming to achieve cumulative sales of 19,750 units and cumulative sales revenue of 39.5 billion KRW over the next three years.
