Naver has been selected as one of the top 100 key companies in the robotics field by the investment bank Morgan Stanley.
According to the “Humanoid 100” report released by Morgan Stanley on the 16th, Naver is classified as a major “Humanoid Integrator.” It falls into the same category as companies like Tesla, Apple, Amazon, Samsung, Hyundai, LG, and Sony.
Morgan Stanley divides the humanoid industry into three sectors: “Brain,” responsible for AI chips, software, and semiconductors; “Body,” which involves hardware manufacturing; and “Integrator,” which covers the development of complete robots. Naver was recognized as a major company in the integrator category.
In addition, Naver was also named as an excellent company for applying robotic technology to workplaces, alongside Honda, Tesla, and Toyota. Last year, Naver had been recognized as a leading provider of humanoid technology in Morgan Stanley’s humanoid report.
Naver noted that while U.S. big tech companies focused on software, like Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta, were mostly included in the brain category, Naver was highlighted as an integrator. This distinction comes from the fact that Naver has not only developed a variety of robots but also holds diverse foundational technologies essential for humanoid robot development, such as large language models (LLM), cloud services, digital twins, and robot operating systems (OS).
Meanwhile, Samsung was evaluated as a humanoid brain company in the memory semiconductor and fabless (semiconductor design) sectors, and SK Hynix was recognized as a brain company in the memory sector. Samsung SDI and LG Energy Solution were selected as humanoid body companies in the battery sector.
