Free Entry to Paid Exhibition Hall Until the 19th… Special Exhibition Runs for a Month
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Jo Seung-han states that the Ministry of Science and ICT held a commemorative ceremony on the 16th at the Science Hall of the National Science Museum in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the museum’s opening.
The National Science Museum, which opened in 1945, has surpassed 35 million cumulative visitors this year.
In this commemorative event, the National Science Museum introduced the vision under the slogan “New Turn, 80 New Transitions,” which includes becoming a space where the public and AI become friends, a science and technology playground people want to visit again, and an inclusive science museum that embraces everyone.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT, Bae Kyung-hoon, stated that the key to establishing a national AI science and technology ecosystem is nurturing talent. He emphasized the crucial role of science museums in sparking interest in science and fostering dreams among talented individuals and announced plans to expand their capabilities and roles.
Following the commemorative ceremony, a special forum reviewed the growth of science and technology and national development over the past 80 years and discussed talent nurturing directions and the role of science museums.
The National Science Museum is hosting a special exhibition titled “80 Years of Science Museum, 80 Years of Science and Technology, Moments of Inspiration” until the 16th of next month.
Additionally, the paid exhibition hall will be open for free until the 19th, during which visitors can participate in experiences such as walking with robot dogs or humanoid robots while listening to stories about the museum.
