On the 25th, SK Telecom announced an upgrade to their AI service ‘A.’, enhancing the AI agent functions and adding a new text security feature. SKT has incorporated the latest AI models from major global large language models (LLMs) into ‘A.’ to offer a more robust AI agent experience for customers. The newly added AI models include SKT’s own LLM ‘A.X 4.0’ and OpenAI’s high-performance AI model ‘GPT-5’ series.
‘A.X 4.0’ has been noted for its excellent performance in understanding the Korean language and culture. According to evaluation results published in July this year, ‘A.X 4.0.’ scored 78.3 points on the KMMLU, surpassing ‘GPT-4o’ (72.5 points), and scored 83.5 points on the CLIcK benchmark, which is higher than ‘GPT-4o’ (80.2 points). Additionally, ‘A.X 4.0’ can use tokens about 1.5 times more efficiently than ‘GPT-4o’ when processing the same Korean input and can handle up to 131,072 tokens at once.
Moreover, SKT has added OpenAI’s latest high-performance AI model ‘GPT-5’ series (‘GPT-5’, ‘GPT-5 mini’, ‘GPT-5 nano’) to ‘A.’. This series has significantly improved abilities in handling complex tasks and reasoning, with a lower likelihood of hallucinations.
With the inclusion of ‘A.X 4.0’ and the ‘GPT-5’ series in the ‘search’ service, users can freely utilize a total of 19 versions of leading global AI models, including ‘Claude’, ‘Perplexity’, ‘Gemini’, and ‘Liner.’
Additionally, the AI calling service ‘A. phone’ now features a new text security function called ‘AI Message’. ‘AI Message’ uses AI technology to label suspicious messages with warnings like impersonation, fraud, and link caution, alerting customers to potential risks. The determination of spam or phishing suspicion is based on comprehensive analysis using the extensive spam and phishing-related data accumulated in ‘A. phone’.
The ‘AI Message’ feature can be accessed via the ‘A. phone’ app on Android OS and the ‘A.’ app’s ‘call’ menu on iOS. It is not supported in the default messaging app.

We will continue to enhance A. so that it can be a reliable AI companion safeguarding our customers’ daily lives.”
