2025 Organizational Restructuring and Personnel Changes: Expansion of ‘Strategy and Business Consulting Division’
KT has announced an organizational restructuring to integrate its B2B business units and establish a new division to serve as the control tower for its media business. This restructuring includes merging the ‘Strategy and New Business Division’, responsible for AI-related integrated business, with the ‘Enterprise Division’, which oversees B2B operations. This will enable the newly formed Enterprise Division to enhance its capabilities in AI, cloud services, platforms, and other new business areas, thus innovating operations to meet diverse customer demands with customized applications. The current head of the Enterprise Division, Vice President An Chang-yong, will continue to lead the organization.
Furthermore, a new ‘Media Division’ will be established by separating the ‘Media Platform Business Department’ previously under the Customer Division. This new division will strengthen the media business portfolio of KT Group’s media affiliates, including IPTV, KT Skylife, KT Studio Genie, and Genie Music, consolidating the media business under one control tower. Kim Chae-hee, who has held positions such as head of strategic planning, has been appointed as the head of the Media Division.
The ‘KT Consulting Group’, previously part of the Technology Innovation Division, will be expanded and reorganized into the ‘Strategy and Business Consulting Division’, enhancing its technical consulting capabilities. The newly established division will include the ‘GTM Headquarters’ for AI transformation (AX) strategic business proposals and execution support, the ‘TMO Headquarters’ to handle next-generation IT projects, and the ‘SPA Headquarters’ to strengthen partnerships with tech companies, including Microsoft. Executive Director Jung Woo-jin, previously head of KT Consulting Group, will lead the Strategy and Business Consulting Division.
KT also plans to evolve its network operation system as a primary telecommunications carrier. It is preparing to launch ‘KT Net Core’ and ‘KT P&M’, network technology specialist companies in charge of building and maintaining network infrastructure, including lines and power, by January next year. They aim to ensure stable network infrastructure operations, along with enhancing network quality through a flexible and swift working environment and decision-making system.
KT will continue restructuring its group’s operations for management efficiency, actively recruiting experts in media, AX, finance, and real estate to drive sustained growth in its core businesses. Furthermore, seven individuals were promoted to executive director from senior manager, and 29 individuals from assistant manager to senior manager, across KT and group companies in the latest executive appointments.
Kim Young-seob, CEO of KT, stated, “Going forward, KT will lead the B2B IT market through global cooperation, while ensuring safe and stable network operations and advancements, thereby becoming a company recognized by customers and the public. We will carry out our responsibilities together with KT Group employees.”
