Kakao Entertainment is adapting the super IP ‘Solo Leveling’ into a live-action drama… “Currently working on the script.”

Kakao Entertainment has announced that it is preparing a live-action drama version of “Solo Leveling” as of the 21st. They are currently in the process of planning, development, and scriptwriting in collaboration with Kakao Entertainment’s media division.

“Solo Leveling,” also known as “Na Honjaman Level Up,” is a flagship IP of Kakao Entertainment and a landmark work that has promoted the status of K-Webtoons worldwide. The story follows the journey of Sung Jin-Woo, the weakest hunter who evolves into the strongest savior of Earth. Its dynamic and grand narrative, along with impressive artwork, has captivated comic fans around the globe.

Following the worldwide popularity of the original web novel and webtoon, the “Solo Leveling” animation and game adaptations also met with success. The second season of the animation, released on January 5th, titled “Solo Leveling: Arise from the Shadow,” quickly gained traction, ranking first on Japan’s Amazon Prime TV show list and in the weekly top 10 on Netflix in 11 countries, including Japan and Hong Kong, according to FlixPatrol.

In celebration of this global success, Kakao Entertainment is launching the “Solo Leveling Demon Castle Entry Quest” event on Kakao Page and Kakao Webtoon from January 19th to February 1st. Users who read the “Solo Leveling” webtoon can receive various prizes, including “Solo Leveling” KakaoTalk emoticons, a 30,000 KRW Baedal Minjok gift voucher, and a 1,000 KRW cash lottery ticket.

A representative from Kakao Entertainment stated, “‘Solo Leveling’ has established itself as a representative IP of K-content both domestically and internationally. Kakao Entertainment will continue to invest in the ‘Solo Leveling’ IP to create a historic legacy together.”
