High-resolution satellite Arirang-7 achieves successful initial communication and reaches target orbit after launch [HK Video]

“Our multipurpose practical satellite ‘Arirang 7’ launched from South America successfully separated from its launch vehicle and established initial communication with the ground station at 2:21 AM today (2nd),” according to the Aerospace Agency, KASA.

KASA reported that Arirang 7 successfully separated from the Vega-C rocket and made its first communication with the Troll Station ground station in Antarctica around 3:30 AM.

During the initial communication process, it was confirmed that major systems, including the solar array deployment, were functioning normally, and the satellite’s overall condition is deemed satisfactory.

Arirang 7, equipped with a 0.3-meter class ultra-high-resolution optical camera and infrared (IR) sensors, is expected to provide essential observational imagery for use in public and scientific fields such as disaster response, land and environment monitoring, and urban heat island analysis.

The Aerospace Agency will conduct four rounds of ground station communication before confirming the final success of Arirang 7’s launch.
