Hancom partners with Intel to build an on-device AI solution.

“Hangeul and Computer teams up with Intel to build an on-device AI solution for drafting, document summarization, and more. On the 16th, Hancom announced their collaboration strategy during the launch event of Intel Korea’s next-generation graphics card, the ‘Intel Arc B-Series’. The two companies plan to focus their efforts on expanding the on-device AI market and offering a new user experience in AI PC environments. On-device AI technology processes AI computations directly on the user’s device instead of using cloud servers. Hancom is discussing with Intel ways to create synergy by combining the AI solution ‘Hancompedia’ with Intel’s Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology.

Currently, Hancom is testing to expand its main AI products, such as ‘Hancom Assistant’ and ‘Hancompedia’, into the on-device domain. The two companies also plan to collaborate with Hancom’s subsidiary, EdTech firm Hancom Academy, to develop online and offline educational programs. Hancom CEO Kim Yeon-soo said, ‘As the AI PC market is expected to grow rapidly, the collaboration with Intel will significantly enhance the user experience of Hancom’s AI products. By supporting the easier use of AI technology through on-device AI, we aim to lead the popularization of AI by increasing AI accessibility.'”
