This is TVN’s YouTube drama channel.
There is a logo of a virtual asset, and when clicked, all videos have been deleted.
CJ Entertainment channels appear to have changed to look like virtual asset channels, with videos flooded with virtual assets.
It has been confirmed that three YouTube channels, including this channel, tving, and others under CJ ENM, have been hacked.
The combined subscribers of these three channels amount to around 8.2 million.
The errors that started around 7 a.m. were mostly restored by the evening, causing inconvenience to users during this time.
CJ ENM stated that they made efforts for a swift recovery from the point of discovering the hacking and will do their best to identify the cause and prevent further occurrences.
Security experts are concerned that hackers frequently attack by stealing YouTube account manager information, displaying inappropriate videos, deleting channel videos, and demanding payment in return for restoration.
In 2022, the YouTube channels of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and a reporting-focused channel were hacked, and promotional videos for virtual assets were released.
[Jang Sang-geun / Director of a Security Company’s Research Institute: “If there are stored user account information in a user’s browser, when infected with malicious code, all such (YouTube) accounts can be compromised. This information is also widely distributed in the dark web, and hackers use the stolen information to sell.”]
To prevent such damages, experts advise using two-step verification with disposable passwords instead of automatically saving important account information like IDs and passwords.
