(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Cho Seong-mi: The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 31st that it held a “Radio Workshop” at Songdo Convensia, Incheon, as part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Digital Week.
APEC Digital Week will run until the 6th of next month and will include the 71st regular meeting of the APEC Telecommunications and Information Working Group (TELWG), private dialogue, workshops, and more.
At the Radio Workshop, held under the theme “The Future of Radio Policy with AI,” APEC representatives from countries such as the United States, Japan, and China shared key radio policies, system improvement cases, and the latest technology trends, exploring ways to cooperate.
Nam Sang-wook, an emeritus professor at Seoul National University’s Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, suggested in his keynote speech that the scope of radio frequency applications is expanding explosively and that AI technology should be actively introduced and related systems improved for effective utilization.
The Ministry of Science and ICT announced its development plan for low-orbit satellite communications and expressed hope that possibilities for cooperation in technology and supply chain fields would be explored with APEC countries.
