President Yoon Seok-youl is expected to carry out a reshuffle sequentially starting this week.
A presidential office official stated on the 15th, “There will be personnel announcements around mid-week,” adding, “We will verify and announce the necessary positions as needed.”
It is known that personnel changes at the vice ministerial level, such as the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy, and Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, are scheduled.
Verification of ministerial-level personnel changes is currently underway.
Ministers such as Lee Jong-ho, Minister of Science, ICT, and Future Planning, and Lee Jung-sik, Minister of Employment and Labor, who took office with the inauguration of the government in 2022, are considered as potential candidates for replacement.
However, for ministerial-level appointments, it is said that there is no leading candidate yet due to the time taken for verification.
It is unlikely that verification will be carried out immediately for the Minister of the Interior and Safety and the Minister of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, who must be appointed through amendments to the Government Organization Act.
