Kwon Young-se, the emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, stated today (21st), “We will widely open the doors of the party again. Anyone who has the will to protect Korea and agrees with the cause of freedom and the constitution is welcome to join us.” This is interpreted as strengthening efforts toward promoting a ‘Big Tent against Lee Jae-myung’ ahead of the early presidential election.
At the emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly, Chairman Kwon said, “The only way to prevent the destruction of state affairs and national chaos by Lee Jae-myung’s Democratic Party forces is through the gathering of a broader and stronger freedom force.”
He continued, “I will not dwell on the past—whether it’s those who temporarily left the party or belonged to another party. What is needed now is the courage for unity, not the stubbornness of factions. We will boldly shake off each person’s past and join the alliance of responsibility to protect the future of the country and the freedom of the people.”
Furthermore, he emphasized, “The People Power Party will overcome conflicts,” and “We will end divisive politics and join all citizens under the flag of freedom and the constitution. On the grand journey toward a free and prosperous Republic of Korea, the People Power Party will be at the center of this historic grand unity.”
