A new arrest warrant has been reissued for President Yoon Suk-yeol, and the National Innovation Party has urged the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the National Investigation Headquarters to properly execute the reissued warrant.
Today (the 8th), Hwang Un-ha, the floor leader of the Innovation Party, said at the Innovation Party’s Straight Road Committee at the National Assembly, “The CIO and the National Investigation Headquarters should formulate a flawless plan to execute the arrest warrant this time, without any hitches, to restore their tarnished honor.”
He further emphasized, “The National Investigation Headquarters should also obtain arrest warrants for all high-level officials at the Security Service, including the director, deputy director, and department heads, and execute these warrants simultaneously with Yoon’s warrant.”
Previously, the collaborative investigation headquarters, in which the CIO and the National Investigation Headquarters participate, re-requested an arrest warrant for President Yoon from the court, and the Seoul Western District Court issued the warrant yesterday (the 7th).
Floor leader Hwang also criticized, “Some thoughtless People’s Power Party members are visiting Yoon’s residence, claiming they will block the court-issued warrant execution, trying to endear themselves to far-right supporters, which is a disgraceful act unbefitting for a member of the National Assembly.”
Deputy Party Leader Kim Sun-min stated, “Forty-five People’s Power Party lawmakers have stood in front to protect the sedition ringleader Yoon Suk-yeol, who is encamped behind barbed wire,” accusing them of “fanning chaos by defending the ringleader with their deceitful words.”
He added, “We will do our best to ensure Yoon Suk-yeol is arrested,” warning that “key insurgents and their accomplices will also be punished, and the People’s Power Party, which tried to support Yoon, will not escape judgment.”
Meanwhile, the Innovation Party has reorganized its impeachment promotion committee into the “Stronger Korea Committee (Straight Road Committee)” and held its first meeting today.
