Choo Mi-ae of the Democratic Party has disclosed documents related to the “Martial Law Command and Combined Forces Command operation.” According to journalist Kim Dong-soo from News1, the documents released by Representative Choo Mi-ae (representative for Hanam, Gyeonggi-do) reveal a scenario-planning document for the declaration of martial law, which refers to the Yeosu-Suncheon Incident of October 19 as a “rebellion.”
Choo’s office released the “Reference Materials for Martial Law Command-Combined Forces Command Operations,” which was drafted in November 2024, on the previous day. This document reportedly includes detailed scenarios and legal justifications for declaring and operating martial law, indicating that it was more than just a draft consideration but a plan prepared for execution.
The document also compares security and emergency martial laws, referring to the Yeosu-Suncheon Incident as a “rebellion,” and the Jeju 4.3 Incident as the “Jeju Uprising.” Choo Mi-ae emphasized that the newly disclosed documents demonstrate meticulous preparation for executing a coup and highlighted the necessity of impeaching and punishing those who planned or were involved in such activities as traitors of the state.
