“Tae-heum Kim, Governor of Chungnam, Refutes Han Dong-hoon’s Autobiography, Saying ‘I Never Supported Impeachment.'”

Kim Tae-heum, the governor of South Chungcheong Province, stated on social media that former representative Han Dong-hoon’s claim that People Power Party-affiliated metropolitan mayors expressed the need to impeach President Yoon Suk-yeol is a distortion.

Governor Kim posted on social media on the 4th that Han wrote in his book that metropolitan mayors, including himself, took a strong stance in favor of impeaching President Yoon. He clarified, “This is simply not true. It is fabricated and distorted,” emphasizing that he has never supported impeachment and has consistently opposed it.

He further explained, “My social media post last year on December 12, when the party was wavering over impeachment support and participation in voting, was to show a unified will in opposition to impeachment, in line with the party’s stance. Han made his claims by citing some media reports without properly verifying the context. I don’t know what his intentions are, but I find it deeply regrettable.”

Governor Kim criticized Han by saying, “The person who actually demanded the president’s expulsion and withdrawal from the party, ultimately leading to impeachment, was none other than Han himself.” He added that Han seemed to be preparing for an early presidential election even before the Constitutional Court’s decision was made.
