Song Eon-seok meets with first and second-term members of the People Power Party to gather opinions on ‘innovation’.

\nSong Eon-seok, the floor leader of the People Power Party, has been meeting with first and second-term lawmakers within the party to gather opinions on plans for party reform.

After the meetings, Song explained to reporters that as the party’s future direction is at stake, he is going through a process of gathering opinions based on experience levels.

Kim Dae-sik, the secretary of the first-term lawmakers meeting, stated that although there was a general consensus that the party convention should be held as soon as possible, there were also opinions that considering the special prosecution situation and the opposition party’s stance, it wouldn’t be too late to proceed accordingly.

He added that there were debates over the five major reforms proposed by Kim Yong-tae, the emergency planning committee chair, and party member opinion polls, and it was decided to discuss further.

Uhm Tae-young, a second-term lawmaker, mentioned that since the current emergency planning committee is in a state of dissolution, there was a suggestion to temporarily form a new emergency committee for procedural decisions such as the convention preparations and formation of a reform committee.

Regarding Kim’s reform proposal, although the intention for reform was acknowledged, Uhm stated that the five aspects had not been conclusively decided, and Song Eon-seok is expected to gather more opinions and produce a result.
