The Democratic Party of Korea’s floor leader, Park Chan-dae, stated that if acting president Han Duck-soo does not immediately appoint constitutional court judge nominee Ma Eun-hyuk, it constitutes grounds for dismissal.
During a policy meeting held at the party’s temporary headquarters in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, Park emphasized that acting president Han should appoint nominee Ma Eun-hyuk in accordance with the intent of the Constitutional Court’s decision.
He further pointed out that acting president Han should also promptly follow through on the requests for nominations for the permanent special prosecutor to investigate the rebellion, the permanent special prosecutor for Kim Keon-hee, and the permanent special prosecutor for drug investigations, as per the law.
Regarding the Constitutional Court, he urged it to deliver a verdict on President Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment trial without delay, stating that any postponement undermines the trust and authority of the court, and called for the ruling to be issued as soon as tomorrow (the 26th).
