Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Acting President Han Duck-soo’s potential exercise of the veto power over the Agricultural Four Acts and other bills passed by the National Assembly, stating it would be “a declaration of following the will of the insurrection leader Yoon Suk-yeol.”
At a party policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly today (19th), Floor Leader Park stated, “Acting President Han should follow the will of the people, not the insurrection leader,” making these remarks.
Floor Leader Park further said, “(The Agricultural Four Acts and others) are in line with the constitution and laws, which are the standards by which Acting President Han should judge, and are sensible bills that benefit the nation’s future,” urging, “Do not act according to the intentions of the insurrection leader and accomplices, who hold no authority, and enact and promulgate the six people’s livelihood reform bills today.”
He also stated that Acting President Han should immediately request recommendations for the permanent special prosecutor candidate for insurrection, and that the special prosecutor laws concerning the insurrection and the investigation into First Lady Kim Gun-hee should be promptly promulgated.
Park warned, “If you disregard the public sentiment for impeachment and misuse your power to exercise the veto, you will face the appropriate consequences.”
