Lee’s approval rating drops to 54%, ‘lowest since taking office’… Democrats at 39%, People Power Party at 25% [Gallup]

**3rd Week of October Gallup Korea Poll**

**President Yoon Seok-yeol’s Approval Rating Drops to 54%**

On October 17, a Gallup Korea poll revealed that President Lee Jae-myung’s approval rating stands at 54%, a record low for his presidency. This decline partially reflects the fallout from the Cambodia kidnapping incident and the October 15 real estate measures.

The poll, conducted from October 14 to 16 with 1,001 adults, shows a 1 percentage point drop compared to the previous week. In contrast, 35% of respondents believe he is underperforming, marking a 1 percentage point decrease in negative evaluations. Meanwhile, 10% of respondents withheld their opinion.

Party support remains stable, with the Democratic Party at 39% and the People Power Party at 25%, each gaining 1 percentage point from the previous week. The Justice Party and the Innovation Party both secured 3%, with 28% of respondents identifying as independents.

Looking at the upcoming local elections next June, opinions on party dominance are nearly split, with 39% supporting a ruling party victory, close to the 36% favoring the opposition. The upcoming weeks will further test these sentiments as policies like the October 15 real estate measures unfold.
