Kim Min-seok: “Yoon, who tried to make the religious cult of Shincheonji, is creating an extreme right-wing sanctuary.”

“Refusal to Raid Shincheonji in Early COVID Days… Signs of Election Collusion Emerge”

On March 13, 2025, lawmakers including Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Kim Min-seok, the party’s chief supreme council member, conducted a march in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Seok-youl.

The following day, the Democratic Party raised concerns about connections between President Yoon and the religious group Shincheonji during his time as a presidential candidate. They argued that defending Yoon ultimately means defending the controversial Shincheonji.

During a meeting held at Gwanghwamun, Kim Min-seok stated, “The refusal to search and raid Shincheonji during the initial stages of the COVID pandemic reveals links between Yoon Seok-youl and Shincheonji during the presidential election.” He accused Yoon of causing unrest throughout his term, pointing out that his governance led to a coup that was supported by far-right groups associated with religious extremism.

Kim further highlighted that removing Yoon and addressing “the dark shadows of occult politics” were crucial for restoring normalcy in Korean society. He urgently appealed to religious leaders and followers for prayers and action towards Yoon’s removal and the restoration of a healthy society.

Additionally, according to reports by NoCut News, it has been revealed that during his candidacy, President Yoon had contacts with close associates of Lee Man-hee, the leader of Shincheonji. It was also suggested that Shincheonji urged its followers to join the People Power Party, claiming it was essential for their survival if Yoon were elected.

President Yoon has previously refuted allegations of relying on shamanism or supporting Shincheonji, dismissing such claims as negative attacks.
