Kim Min-seok Emphasizes “No Compromise or Delay in Civil War Trial” at Cabinet Meeting

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok stated on the 25th, “In light of the developments in court regarding the rebellion forces, there is concern among the public that things may not be progressing or are headed down the wrong path.”

During a Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Kim emphasized, “There should be no compromise or delay in the judgment and resolution of the rebellion,” highlighting the importance of swift and decisive action.

He added, “If the rebellion forces had succeeded, where would our country be today? I hope you will once again gravely consider the public’s mandate to swiftly and conclusively deal with the rebellion and move towards growth and progress.”

Furthermore, he stressed, “The executive branch will fulfill its duties to the fullest extent, ensuring that all areas completely overcome the rebellion and fully realize the sovereignty of the people, in collaboration with the public.”

Prime Minister Kim also pointed out, “In a week, it will be the statutory deadline for the budget proposal, and a year since the declaration of martial law due to the rebellion,” urging that the budget review results by the National Assembly be respected and processed within the deadline to ensure there is no disruption in the recovery of public livelihoods.

Meanwhile, President Lee Jae-myung, who attended the G20 summit and completed a tour of four countries in the Middle East and Africa, will return on the 26th. Prime Minister Kim remarked, “The fast-paced multilateral summit diplomacy since June has practically concluded for the year, and we have re-established our global standing as a responsible major nation through pragmatic diplomacy centered on national interest, overcoming the rebellion.” He added, “I hope that all departments in the cabinet will strive to maximize the outcomes of our summit diplomacy.”
