With Cho Kuk’s Incarceration, By-election for the Supreme Council Member on the 19th,
(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kye Seung-hyun – Seo Wang-jin, a member of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, announced his candidacy for the Supreme Council on the 17th.
In a press conference at the National Assembly, Seo stated, “As a founding comrade of Cho Kuk, I aim to steadfastly uphold the Cho Kuk Innovation Party without Cho and contribute to making it a stronger and more robust party.”
Seo added, “I will bolster the party’s internal structure and prepare for the upcoming 2026 local elections. I intend to build regional organizations, refine key policies that embrace the people’s lives, and solidify the party’s identity through systematic member education.”
Due to the incarceration of former leader Cho, the Cho Kuk Innovation Party’s Supreme Council has been reduced to four members, prompting a by-election for the position on the 19th at the party’s executive meeting.
