Hwang Woo-yea said, “It’s difficult to hold a general meeting in late June or early July… It seems like it will be delayed by more than a month.”

“The Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, Hwang Woo-yea, stated that the timing of the party’s convention could be more than a month later than originally mentioned, between late June and early July.

Chairman Hwang mentioned in an SBS radio interview that it takes at least 40 days for the necessary time for party constitution and rules conventions.

He explained that in order to hold the convention at the end of June, preparations need to begin on the 20th of this month, but the delay in electing the floor leader itself makes it physically difficult.

Regarding the issue of the current rule that ‘100% of party members must vote’ in the convention, he said that the decision will be made through discussions, whether to choose only party members or to include opinions from journalists, public officials, educators, and other party stakeholders.”
