Democratic Party: “Encourage Early Voting… Highest Level of Security Alert for Candidate Safety”

[Seoul=Newsis] Reporter Jae-Hyun Shin – The Democratic Party of Korea (DPK) announced on the 28th, a day before the start of early voting for the presidential election, that party members should “actively encourage early voting” and issued a directive for “the highest level of vigilance to ensure the candidate’s safety.”

On this day, through an internal directive in the names of Park Chan-dae, the Chief Executive of the DPK’s Election Strategy Committee, Kim Min-seok, the Co-Chief Executive, and Yoon Ho-jung, the Head of the General Election Strategy Headquarters, the DPK stated, “We are at the final spurt point with early voting approaching tomorrow and the main vote on the 6th,” adding, “We ask all members of the election committee to approach the election with the utmost concentration and tension.”

They further stated, “Please ensure thorough protection and safety for the candidate. During field campaigns, issue the highest level of alert to the candidate’s security team, secretarial office, general situation room, campaign headquarters, and organizational headquarters.”

They also emphasized, “We hope for active engagement in on-the-ground election campaigning and encouraging early voting.”

Moreover, they mentioned, “There are no votes in the office,” and requested, “Except for essential personnel within the Central Election Committee, all political and operational staff should focus on election campaigning in their respective regions.”
