The People’s Power floor leader, Choo Kyung-ho, stated today (29th) in relation to the internal conflicts within the party being publicly exposed over the party member bulletin board controversy, “If the actions and words of party officials cross the line, appropriate measures will be taken.”
Following a strategy meeting at the National Assembly today, Choo met with reporters and responded to a question about concerns of party privatization due to some pro-Han (Han Dong-hoon) members making statements in support of Han Dong-hoon, by saying this.
Previously, at a general assembly yesterday, Choo also urged affiliated members and party officials to “refrain from public statements or debates on the party member bulletin board controversy for the time being and take a cooling-off period.”
When asked about remarks suggesting a change in sentiment regarding a special investigation of First Lady Kim Gun-hee among pro-Han circles, Choo commented, “I am not fully aware of the intentions behind those pro-Han statements, so I will not comment.”
Regarding concerns about a potential defection vote on the special investigation law for Mrs. Kim, he stated, “I do not think so at all,” adding that “I have been talking to our legislators and there isn’t anyone who is concerned.”
Regarding whether to recommend a ruling party member for the parliamentary investigation into the death of a Marine, he mentioned, “We will consider it over the weekend and try to come to a decision by early next week at the latest.”
