Cho Kuk: “Upon checking, prosecution decided not to indict Kim Kun-hee…exoneration comes right after by-elections” (Summary)

“Can’t Expect to Succeed Immediately… Will Serve as a Foundation for a Mass Party,” After Failing to Win in By-Elections

On the 17th, Jo Kuk, the representative of the Innovation Party, commented on the prosecution’s decision regarding the alleged involvement of First Lady Kim Keon-hee in the “Deutsche Motors stock manipulation” case, stating, “After checking just now, the prosecution decided not to indict.”

Speaking at the Supreme Council meeting that morning, Representative Jo criticized, “Right after the October 16 by-elections, a complete pardon was given to Mrs. Kim,” expressing his disbelief and frustration.

He further emphasized, “The need for a special prosecutor has grown stronger as the time for the prosecution to close is approaching.”

It is expected that the prosecution will announce its decision on whether to indict Kim soon.

Jo stated, “The prosecution is said to have formed a ‘red team’ within the prosecution itself reaching a conclusion of no charges, but it’s not a real opposing red team, just a ‘staged game.'”

Regarding Myung Tae-gyun, a key figure in the alleged intervention in nominations by the First Lady, and his series of disclosures, Jo remarked, “No matter how much the Presidential Office excuses it, it cannot deny the existence of Myung as an unofficial person,” urging the truth behind the alleged interventions in nominations, personnel, and state affairs to be uncovered.

He particularly noted, “There is evidence that Myung obtained information on national projects in advance after President Yoon’s inauguration,” asserting that “the relationship between the presidential couple and Myung is crucial.”

Jo added, “The time for people’s psychological impeachment is approaching, and if concrete facts are revealed in a special prosecution, the joint regime of Yoon Seok-youl and Kim Keon-hee will collapse.”

Regarding the Innovation Party’s failure to produce a winner in the previous day’s by-elections, Jo commented, “How can you be full on the first bite?” He evaluated it as an invaluable asset that can’t be bought, emphasizing, “In the local elections held only seven months after its founding, the Innovation Party applied principles of cooperation and competition through party-to-party innovation competition, candidate unification, and focus and selection,” asserting it will serve as a stepping stone to becoming a national and mass political party.
