**Criticism of Cha Jung-in’s Nomination as Chairman of the National Education Commission**
[Herald Economy = Reporter Kim Jin] Ahn Cheol-soo, a candidate for the People Power Party’s leadership, criticized the nomination of Cha Jung-in, a professor at Pusan National University’s Law School, as the Chairman of the National Education Commission, a minister-level position, on the 14th. Ahn questioned, “Did President Lee Jae-myung and Cho Kuk’s couple lend you private loans?” and added, “What on earth do you owe them to be creating a political ‘bromance’ with national affairs?”
On his Facebook page that morning, Ahn commented on Professor Cha, saying, “He is the person who shouted, ‘I’m sorry for not being able to protect Cho Min,’ amidst the admissions scandal involving the Cho Kuk couple.”
Ahn further criticized, “While serving as President of Pusan National University, Cha focused intensely on shielding Cho Min, leading to a lawsuit for neglect of duty,” and added, “When running for Busan Superintendent of Education, he wrote an apology stating, ‘I had no discretion to prevent the admission cancellation,’ and ‘I did my best to reveal the unfair treatment of Cho Min.'”
He continued, “It seems President Lee Jae-myung has undisclosed debts to the Cho Kuk couple,” and questioned, “How can he pardon the couple together by the 80th anniversary of liberation and then offer a minister-level position to their child’s representative unless he owes them a massive debt?”
