The National Assembly has decided to hold a confirmation hearing for the three Constitutional Court justices to be appointed for its quota on the 23rd and 24th.
The ruling party, the People Power Party, did not attend the meeting, arguing that Acting President Han Duck-soo cannot appoint the justices, and the opposition party proceeded with the hearing agenda alone.
Although Rep. Jeong Jeom-sik from the People Power Party was nominated as the chair of the special committee, the opposition appointed Rep. Park Ji-won as the chair after the ruling party declared its absence.
