, Former Governor Kim Kyung-soo, who returned to Korea today (19th) to attend the funeral of the late President Roh Moo-hyun, stated, “It is not appropriate to comment on the current politics of Korea as I am visiting temporarily.”

, Kim, who is studying abroad in the UK, said this afternoon at Incheon International Airport on the 19th when asked by reporters about the expectation from some within the Democratic Party for a supportive role in the pro-Moon faction.

, Former Governor Kim emphasized, “I believe that it is the duty of a politician to speak to the people about the future and hope” and added, “I deeply regret as someone who has caused worries and concerns to the people.”

, He continued, saying, “I think that I need to see more, listen more, learn more, and make more efforts in my current position.”

, Kim, who is known as a supporter of the pro-Moon faction, responded to the question of whether he would meet with former President Moon by saying, “Since I will be attending the Bongha Village funeral, I will have to see (former President Moon in Pyeongsan Village).”

, Regarding his meeting with Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, Kim commented, “There are no other personal schedules decided yet,” and said, “I have just arrived, so I plan to meet with many people and make contacts. Don’t I need to organize how to proceed?”

, Former Governor Kim was sentenced to 2 years in prison for involvement in the ‘Dr. K’ comment manipulation case and was released on parole on December 28, 2022.

, Afterwards, he went to study abroad at the London School of Economics (LSE) in May last year. As he has not been reinstated, he will not be able to run for public office until December 2027.
